The global submarine research firm has opened a new office in Bristol, bringing a team of experts who use AI-powered technology to make working at sea safer and faster.
Glasgow-based Surmala has become a major player in research and inspection services in the offshore wind power market.
Over the past four years, the company has shown steady growth of 61%, increasing its business footprint.

Using AI and automation, the company is able to collect and process marine data more quickly and accurately, and by speeding up projects, it reduces the need for people to spend long-term offshore.
Leading the new Bristol Hub is Richard Goodwin, Surmala's new chief information officer, bringing over 25 years of experience in global technology and data innovation.
