AI-powered iOS app turns iPhone videos into anything you can imagine

Artificial intelligence (AI) company Runway recently announced support for AI-generated 15-second videos in its iOS app. It allows the user to convert videos shot on her iPhone into anything imaginable.

In March, the company first unveiled its text-to-video AI generator, and recently expanded its technology to support AI-generated videos lasting up to 15 seconds. The company doesn’t claim that these videos are necessarily realistic, but that they can primarily create a visual spectacle that showcases the power of the company’s technology.

“Runway Research is at the forefront of these developments, ensuring the future of content creation is accessible, controllable, and empowering for users. Deep learning applied to audiovisual content. We believe technology will forever change art, creativity and design tools,” the company said.

Its techniques can be used to infinitely enlarge images using text prompts, erase objects from videos, seamlessly interpolate footage to allow for slow motion, add bokeh to videos, or Move the still image.

Now Runway is making its technology even easier to access via an iOS app called RunwayML. It’s a compilation of some of the most impressive and popular tools in a format that works on mobile devices.

A standout feature is the ability to shoot a video and use text prompts, reference images, or presets to turn that video into something completely different.

Anyone can try this app and the new 15 second AI video generation feature for free, but you will have to pay to remove the watermark from the finished AI video generation. The app, which just launched on April 18th, has been updated to allow you to see for free an image of what the output video will look like before it is generated into a full video.
