Capital One
Capital One, a bank with a market capitalization of over $50 billion, was founded in the late '80s and early '90s to take advantage of new credit card and data technologies and has remained focused on innovation ever since.
According to an Evident Insights report on AI innovation in banking, Capital One is an active adopter of generative AI, with key AI partnerships including Snowflake, Columbia University, University of Southern California, and the Partnership on AI.
But the bank's real advantage lies in its AI patents: it accounted for 39% of AI patent applications and 43% of AI patent citations across the top 50 banks studied in the report. As the bank consolidated its AI efforts into its AI foundation organization, it also launched an entirely new family of roles, applied research, that apply AI to client problems.
Just look at the big salaries Capital One is paying its cutting-edge AI workers and applied researchers.
