Flitto (CEO Simon Lee, KOSDAQ 300080), an AI data solution provider and unified language platform, announced that it will participate in GITEX Africa 2024, the largest ICT exhibition in Africa, in collaboration with the Korea Institute for Information Technology Advancement (KITA) under the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Africa Foundation.


GITEX Africa 2024, which will take place in Marrakech, Morocco from May 29 to 31, is a cutting-edge technology exhibition organized by Morocco's Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, organized by the Digital Development Agency (ADD) and sponsored by UAE institutions. The exhibition will feature 1,400 exhibitors showcasing innovations in AI, cybersecurity, fintech, blockchain and more, and is known as Africa's leading ICT exhibition fostering public-private partnerships and lively business meetings.


At the event, Flitto will exhibit its AI translation solution equipped with its proprietary AI translation engine and speech-to-text (STT) engine. Visitors will be able to experience the accuracy and speed of Flitto's “chat translation,” which is suitable for one-on-one conversations, and “live translation,” which is ideal for seminars and meetings.


In addition, Flitto has demonstrated expertise in building high-quality language data, which is essential for training AI engines. Leveraging its integrated platform with 14 million users worldwide, Flitto provides high-quality data without copyright issues, such as multilingual parallel corpora, audio data, OCR image data, and multi-turn conversation data, demonstrating the possibility of customized data supply tailored to the needs of AI-related institutions in the region.


On May 29, the first day of the opening, Flitto signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ugandan startup Canine Safaris Ltd. to build a translation service for safari tours. The collaboration focuses on several key areas: ▲Technology testing cooperation to implement a real-time interpretation solution for safari tours ▲Operation cooperation to improve user convenience after the introduction of safari tours ▲Cooperation process to build a multilingual data set specialized for safari tours.


In addition, Flitto CEO Simon Lee was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the “AI Everything” special conference track on May 29, the first day of the event. His speech, titled “The Importance of Data in AI: Who Will Win the AI ​​War?”, emphasized the importance of data in the AI ​​ecosystem. On May 30, Flitto advanced to the semi-finals of the innovation pitch competition “Supernova Challenge”, providing an opportunity for AI data solution providers to showcase their innovations to investors around the world.


Going forward, Flitto plans to focus on the need to build AI language datasets for the diverse languages ​​spoken in the region, including Arabic, Swahili and Amharic, to proactively provide customized data to the rapidly digitizing African market.
