SAN FRANCISCO — If ChatGPT can help you write an essay or come up with a meal plan, can it help you have a conversation with another human being?
That’s what Brian Zhang, a 22-year-old Stanford University computer science student, wondered earlier this year.
So he grabbed an augmented reality (AR) eyepiece, a laptop, and enlisted a few friends to code something called RizzGPT.
The eyepiece (a monocular designed by Brilliant Labs that has been open-sourced to allow firmware experimentation) houses a camera, microphone, and an internal projector screen that displays characters in front of the user. I’m here.
When someone speaks to you, RizzGPT monitors the conversation through a microphone, converts it to text, and sends it over Wi-Fi to OpenAI’s artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT to generate a response. The response is displayed on a small monocular screen after a short delay.
“RizzGPT basically uses AI to give you charisma on demand, so it listens to ongoing conversations and tells you exactly what to say next,” said Chiang. said.
‘convergence’
Reuters asked Chiang Kai-shek at the demonstration, “What do you think is your biggest weakness?”
“I think my biggest weakness is that I’m sometimes too hard on myself. I always try to do my best, but sometimes I burn out,” Chen said after about five seconds. I read it through my glasses.
Delays and reactions are still not very natural and charismatic. But this is just a prototype, Chen said, and is meant to show what the technology can do.
“It’s been quite some time since the way we interacted with computers changed,” he says. “5G connectivity, AR he glasses, hardware and intelligence come together to basically create new ways of interacting with these systems, new operating systems that are more natural.”
The goal, he said, is not to completely replace natural human speech. “It’s simply meant as this kind of aid to help you think about things you might have forgotten…in that role, you suffer from social anxiety and find it difficult to talk to other people.” I think it can be very helpful for difficult people.”
