In Vietnam, generative AI (GenAI) is playing a pivotal role in driving development and accelerating the digital economy.
According to the report, the adoption rate of AI in Vietnamese companies will increase by 39% year-on-year (YoY) in 2025, highlighting the growing importance of AI in improving operational efficiency, fostering innovation, and creating competitive advantage.
Eric Yeo, General Director of AWS Vietnam, spoke at a press conference on March 4 about the state of generative AI adoption and benefits for Vietnamese businesses, including technology updates and outlook for 2026, highlighting that the GenAI trend is gaining momentum across all industries and organization sizes.
According to Mr Yeo, around 61% of Vietnamese companies using AI report that they expect to see an increase in revenue due to operational improvements, while 58% expect to see significant cost savings.
“This shows that GenAI has become a major driver of business operations and an important support system for Vietnamese companies,” he said.
Regarding the adoption situation across various sectors in Vietnam, Mr. Yeo pointed out that finance and insurance are among the pioneering and fastest growing sectors. Additionally, manufacturers, startups, content creators, designers, and game developers are also demonstrating robust AI integration.
AWS Vietnam also cited global data to explain the rapid momentum of AI. Specifically, according to McKinsey, 78% of organizations worldwide are using GenAI in at least one business function, an impressive growth in just 12 months. Notably, IDC reports that 50% of these organizations successfully moved GenAI from proof of concept (PoC) to production in 2024.
Additionally, a Deloitte study revealed that 40% of organizations have already achieved the expected productivity and efficiency gains from the GenAI tasks they have adopted.
These numbers reflect the rapid changes and significant changes in the GenAI and Agentic AI landscape and the tangible value these technologies bring to businesses and organizations today.
