Adobe + Runway AI deal begins with early access to Firefly's Gen-4.5

AI Video & Visuals

With Firefly, creators can already use Adobe's commercially secure Firefly model, as well as a growing ecosystem of industry-leading partner models. These include models from Runway as well as Black Forest Labs, ElementLabs, Google, Luma AI, OpenAI, and Topaz Labs. Adobe's reasoning was that each model had different strengths and weaknesses, and that giving users as much choice as possible was good for the platform's long-term growth.

The agreement with Runway does not affect the scope of these relationships, and more relationships may be added in the future. What this means is that Firefly users can stay ahead of the curve. You can now access Runway's new Gen-4.5 model ahead of its wider public availability.

Runway claims 4.5 delivers a generational leap over previous models, delivering true movie-quality output, especially in the difficult issue of temporal consistency. Motion quality, immediacy, and multi-element scenes have all been improved.

Firefly Pro plan users can access and test unlimited generations until December 22nd, when they are discarded. And of course you can after that. Bring those generations into Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and other Creative Cloud applications for further control and refinement.
