Adaptive Shield Unveils New AI Security Features at RSA Conference

Adaptive Shield has introduced new SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM) detection and response capabilities tailored for AI-driven applications.

The development is aimed at helping companies manage the risks associated with the increased use of generative AI techniques, and the first demonstration of these capabilities was held at the RSA Conference 2024 in San Francisco.

AI applications such as ChatGPT, Google Gimni, GitHub Copilot, Salesforce Einstein, Microsoft 365 Copilot, etc. have been rapidly integrated into the workplace to improve efficiency, with the PwC report highlighting that more than half (54%) of the companies surveyed have deployed some form of generative AI.

While generative AI increases automation and productivity, it also brings risks such as data leakage, expanded attack surface, new areas of exploitation, and privacy concerns. Compliance with government regulations also brings new challenges. “The GenAI revolution requires new security strategies, and organizations are realizing they need to prioritize it,” said Maor Bin, CEO and co-founder of Adaptive Shield. “Some organizations are trying to ban GenAI because they are unaware of the risks. Instead of trying to stop this development, they should invest in security, as it's only a matter of time before this technology becomes widespread.”

To address these security concerns, Adaptive Shield has released a suite of products within its SSPM platform specifically for Chief AI Officers and security teams. The suite includes several key capabilities:

AI App Security Posture: This component allows organizations to scope the security posture of AI applications in their SaaS stack and identify and address application configuration drift. A security score is provided for each application, allowing security teams to pinpoint applications with high risk levels. Detailed security checks can be filtered by domain, severity and compliance frameworks, complete with step-by-step remediation guidance that integrates with ticketing systems and SIEM/SOAR.

AI Configuration: This feature provides the ability to control AI-related security settings within SaaS applications to prevent data leakage or exposure, including identifying users with excessive access rights and managing permissions related to GenAI capabilities.

AI Shadow App Discovery and Management: Organizations can identify AI shadow apps, including potentially malicious apps, and automatically revoke access based on the assessed risk level.

Manage third-party long-tail AI-certified apps: This allows you to monitor interconnected GenAI applications and manage the risks they pose to the SaaS hub, including checking permission scope.

Secure home-grown applications: This feature focuses on protecting home-grown GenAI-driven applications by restricting access and ensuring secure configurations.

Data management to maintain data silos: Recognizing that AI can analyze and correlate information from multiple sources more comprehensively than traditional methods, Adaptive Shield policies manage security controls to prevent data leaks.

The platform supports over 150 out-of-the-box SaaS app integrations, including leading business applications and custom apps, making it a versatile tool for businesses looking to secure their SaaS ecosystem.
