The student behind the AI teacher said that for now Sophie can only speak, but they are developing a device that will allow her to write as well.
A 17-year-old student from Uttar Pradesh has created an AI teacher named Sophie. In an interview, he explained how he created the robot and what it can do. In videos on social media, robots can be seen answering various questions on different subjects.
“Aditya Kumar, a 17-year-old student of Shiv Charan Inter College, has built an AI teacher robot named Sophie equipped with an LLM chipset,” ANI wrote and shared the video.
When asked to introduce itself, the robot says: “I am an AI teacher robot. My name is Sophie and I was invented by Aditya. I teach at Shivcharan Inter College, Bulandshahr… Yes, I can teach students properly.”
Speaking about how the robot was created, Kumar said: “I used the LLM chipset to create this robot, which is also used by major companies that manufacture robots. It can clear the students’ doubts…For now, she can only speak. However, we are working on a way to do the same soon. ”
He added that students, just like him, should have access to appropriate laboratories in each district to conduct their research. “Every school district needs a lab so students can come there and do research.”
Aditya also gave a glimpse into Sophie’s work by asking her various questions, including about the world’s tallest building, India’s first president, and India’s first prime minister. The robot also answered the question, “What is electricity?” Calculate the sum of “100 + 92”.
At one point, Kumar asked whether robots could properly teach students. In response, the company responded that it can properly teach children. Currently, Sophie speaks only Hindi.
Aditya Kumar is a 12th grade student. He says his robot can act as a substitute teacher if a teacher is absent for a day.
