New Delhi is expected to create more than 1 million jobs by 2030, including quantum computing and generator AI. According to a report by QuessITStapping, AI and machine learning (ML), cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science and blockchain skills highlight how the industry is. Emerging technologies are also expected to contribute more than US$150 billion to the Indian economy by 2030, solidifying their position as a global technology leader. In all this, Bengaluru remains a hotbed of technology employment. According to the Technology Skills Report 2024, “emerging technologies such as quantum computing and generator AI are expected to create more than 1 million jobs by 2030.”

Features in emerging fields such as AI/ML, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science, and blockchain are transforming industries with innovative applications.

AI/ML improves the efficiency of healthcare, banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), retail, automobiles and manufacturing through diagnostics, fraud detection and quality control.

“The Indian technology workforce is witnessing transformative change. The synergy of traditional skills like ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) with groundbreaking technologies such as AI/ML and quantum computing offers unparalleled opportunities.”

Bengaluru continues to dominate the employment environment, contributing almost half of the tech demand (43.5%), followed by Hyderabad (13.4%) and Pune (10%).

“The IT sector in India will have hired up to 2 million jobs by 2030, with technologies such as generation AI and blockchain leading the charges. Bengaluru is the epicenter of technology employment, contributing to 43.5% of demand, followed by Hyderabad and Pune,” the report said.
