Leak Document: Meta's hiring process is gaining AI transformation

From coding agents to Manhattan-sized data centers, Meta is expanding into AI this year. Currently, I'm planning to work with HR.

According to an internal document obtained by Business Insider, the company is preparing to use AI to automate key parts of the recruitment process, such as testing coding skills and assisting interviewers with question prompts.

The document reveals Meta's plans to rely on AI to perform some functions in the recruitment process later this year. META aims to use AI for many of the management tasks involved in the recruitment process, such as matching interviewers with candidates, transcribing interview memos, and flagging duplicate job postings.

Meta will also use internal AI assistants to determine the quality of human interviewers, such as flagging non-comprehensive questions and assessing that they are based on criteria such as the number of candidates to move on to the next stage and the quality of feedback.

Additionally, META will use AI assistants to assist scheduling interviewers, including their preferences for the number of internal or external interviews they want to run each week. They are also set to track the interviewer's skills, including the language they speak.

The overall goal is to automate several features, make the recruitment process more efficient, flexible, adaptable, and improve “interviewer behavior rate” according to the business results listed in the document.

A Meta spokesperson told BI: “Like many other companies, we use AI to make recruitment more efficient and match candidates with candidates more quickly. People who talk to humans are always part of the interview process and don't change.”

Meta is not the only big tech company that looks to AI to streamline its recruitment business. Amazon uses AI recruitment tools to screen candidates and find relevant roles, but it is not desirable to use AI to help them move forward in interviews. The company is cracking down on the use of AI tools such as coding assistants and “teleprompter” apps.

More and more companies are embracing AI for a variety of recruitment tasks. A LinkedIn's “Future of Recruiting 2025” report released in February found that 37% of organizations surveyed “actively integrate” or “experiment” to employ AI tools in their recruitment process. That's from 27% a year ago.
