Meta will deliver a series of product updates, including AI tools and Meta Verified, to WhatsApp businesses in India and other countries. The announcement was made at a Conversations event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where the company explained that these features give businesses more options with WhatsApp.
Meta says that these services will be available initially in India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Colombia, with plans to expand to more countries in the future. Interested parties can avail these services through subscription plans starting at $14 (approximately Rs 1,162) per month.
Meta also launched a verification program last year, which has now been expanded to businesses on Facebook and Instagram.
The company will also offer AI tools, Meta Verified, and additional features for businesses by allowing calling functionality on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp Business introduces Meta Verified AI feature
The company said its AI tools, Meta Verified and Call A Business features will enhance the way people and businesses connect and collaborate on WhatsApp.
1. AI Tools for WhatsApp Business: Meta's AI tools help businesses provide support to customers and help them discover new products and services. It also introduces new ways to quickly answer frequently asked questions using AI. Additionally, Meta is integrating AI into ad creation for Instagram and Facebook, helping businesses follow up with customers better.
2. Meta Verified for WhatsApp Business: Meta is introducing verified badges for WhatsApp Business. The badge signifies that your business has registered with Meta and is protected against impersonation. Meta Verified users can get additional account support from their company and help their employees use WhatsApp across devices. Users can also see the badge on WhatsApp Business channels and custom pages.
3. Calling WhatsApp Business: In a recent update, Meta added a new feature to WhatsApp that allows users to call large businesses directly. This feature is especially useful for complex queries like travel arrangements, banking, etc. where a quick phone call can provide the best assistance. Currently, the company is testing this feature and plans to roll it out to more businesses in the coming months.
