Google saw a lot of fluctuation in search rankings this week, both around June 1st and June 5th. Google said white-labeled coupon sites will be penalized under its Site Reputation Abuse Policy. Google warns that it won't index sites that never load on mobile devices, but will index sites that aren't mobile-friendly. Google AI summaries dropped from 84% of queries to 15% and now only show up in 15%. SEOs are SEOing the AI summaries. Google fixed an issue that caused site names to not show up on some internal pages and fixed link reports in Search Console. Google said it won't take direct action on spam reports. Google Search is testing a new shopping filter bar at the top. Google Merchant Center is testing new analytics. Google Business Profiles are testing SMS and WhatsApp messages. Google Business Profiles have a bug that prevents questions and answers from showing. Google will replace old ad designs with new ones starting August 30th. Google Ads API version 17 is out. Microsoft Advertising will automatically import Google Ads conversion data. Microsoft Advertising will move Smart Shopping campaigns to Performance Max.
