At COMPUTEX 2024, MediaTek announced the integration of NVIDIA TAO into MediaTek's NeuroPilot SDK, which is part of its edge inference silicon roadmap. MediaTek's support for NVIDIA TAO provides developers with a seamless experience in deploying edge AI (including generative AI) capabilities across a range of IoT applications powered by MediaTek's cutting-edge silicon, empowering businesses of all sizes to harness the potential of edge AI across a range of IoT verticals, including smart retail, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation and smart cities.
MediaTek powers more than 2 billion connected devices annually. The company's edge silicon portfolio is designed to maximize edge AI applications performance and run them with extreme efficiency, while also integrating MediaTek's industry-leading multimedia and connectivity technologies. With premium, mid-range and entry-level chipsets, MediaTek's edge inference silicon roadmap enables brands to deliver amazing AI experiences to devices across price points.
The integration of MediaTek's NeuroPilot SDK with NVIDIA TAO provides developers with an easy-to-use interface and performance optimizations to push the boundaries of Vision AI on all MediaTek devices, from big to small. With over 100 ready-to-use pre-trained models, NVIDIA TAO also enables customized Vision AI capabilities for a variety of solutions and use cases. It automates the process of tuning AI models, reducing development time and complexity, allowing developers to bring products to market faster without deep AI expertise.
“The integration of NVIDIA TAO with MediaTek NeuroPilot furthers our vision of democratizing access to AI, catalyzing a new wave of AI-powered devices and experiences,” said CK Wang, general manager of MediaTek's IoT business unit. “With these expanding resources and MediaTek's Genio product line, it's easier than ever for developers to design innovative edge AI products that outperform the competition.”
“Generative AI accelerates highly accurate computer vision for AIoT and edge applications,” said Deepu Talla, vice president of Robotics and Edge Computing at NVIDIA. “The combined power of NVIDIA TAO and MediaTek NeuroPilot SDK will enable us to deliver the latest and greatest vision AI models to billions of IoT devices.”
