With the acquisition of Verta, Cloudera gains world-renowned AI and ML talent and technology, further strengthening its position in the competitive AI industry. The Verta team will leverage its combined expertise to drive Cloudera's AI roadmap, enabling the company to effectively anticipate the needs of its global customer base.
“The future of data management is AI. The two go hand in hand. By acquiring Verta's Operational AI platform, Cloudera is strengthening our team and accelerating our operational AI capabilities,” said Cloudera CEO Charles Sansbury. “We've moved quickly to provide our customers with the technology they need to advance their data and AI initiatives, and we don't plan on slowing down. This is the first of several strategic moves we plan to make as we expand our leadership in data and trusted enterprise AI.”
Verta's hybrid and multi-cloud end-to-end AI platform not only provides critical AI expertise but also strengthens Cloudera's ability to serve the growing AI demands of its global user base. Founded based on research done at MIT by former Verta CEO Dr. Manasi Vartak and subsequently developed in collaboration with former Verta CTO Dr. Conrado Miranda, Verta is a pioneer in predictive and generative AI (GenAI) model management, delivery and governance. It addresses one of the biggest hurdles in AI adoption by enabling organizations to effectively build, operate, monitor, secure and scale models across the enterprise.
Verta's technology simplifies the process of transforming datasets into custom search extension generative applications, empowering any developer, regardless of their level of machine learning expertise, to create and optimize business-ready large-scale language models (LLMs). These capabilities, along with Verta's genAI workbench, model catalog and AI governance tools, enhance Cloudera's platform capabilities as it continues to deliver enterprise AI to its global customer base.
“Good data produces good models, which is why Verta and Cloudera's technologies are a perfect fit,” said Vartak. “Cloudera manages more data than any other platform in the world, making them the perfect choice to bring our vision of innovation to life. Aligning with the Cloudera team, we can and will unlock the potential of AI across the organization to enrich every user's journey from data to insight to action.”
