At its Build 2024 event, Microsoft announced real-time video translation as an upcoming feature for Microsoft Edge. With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), users will be able to simultaneously translate the conversation through voice-over and subtitles while watching content on websites like YouTube and LinkedIn.
With just a few clicks, your users can access videos in different languages. Just click on the translation icon, select the desired language and the current language, and let our AI do the rest. It's that easy!
Popular video websites such as YouTube, LinkedIn, Reuters, CNBC News and Bloomberg will also soon have access to real-time video translation tools.
This new AI feature is also available now from English to German, Hindi, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Spanish and Korean to English, with more languages and video websites coming soon.
No actual release date has been revealed for Microsoft's real-time video translation feature.
The entire translation process is performed on-device, so no video data ever leaves your device, meaning no part of the video or audio content is processed or transferred to the cloud.
While the accuracy of a translation depends on many factors, including the source language, number of speakers, background music, etc., Microsoft is committed to improving the quality of its translations. While AI-generated content may still contain errors, the company is continually working to minimize them.
