The latest Q2 2024 release enables developers to integrate Generative AI into any app. Rapidly build and design innovative, inclusive digital experiences.
progress (Nasdaq: PRGS), a trusted provider of infrastructure software, today announced the R2 2024 release of Progress® Telerik® and Progress® Kendo UI®, the most powerful .NET and JavaScript UI libraries and tools for application development. Today's release delivers artificial intelligence (AI) prompts to application interfaces, design-to-code productivity and accessibility features, and a set of new UI components, including the market's first-to-market Blazor Spreadsheet component.
“Businesses are rapidly adapting their products to leverage AI, and developers need to quickly respond to this new opportunity,” said Loren Jarrett, EVP and GM of Digital Experience at Progress. “With this latest release, developers can easily embed Gen AI prompts into their apps, incorporating AI to improve UX as well as advanced design to code automation and accessibility features. The world is changing rapidly, and we're here to help developers stay one step ahead.”
What's new in Q2 2024:
UI Components for Generative AI Integration
The new AI Prompt component, available in all Telerik and Kendo UI libraries, enables you to create high-quality content, messages, and documents, and provides quick access to information through in-UI search. To shorten the learning curve, AI integration demos in Telerik and Kendo UI libraries for components such as TextBox and Spreadsheet can help developers discover new ways to incorporate AI-powered interactions into their digital experiences.
Accelerating design-to-manufacturing workflows
Design systems are necessary for design consistency, but translating design into code often introduces issues and production time delays. With today's release, Progress improves the designer-to-developer handoff with an enhanced Figma UI kit, improved color system theming, and richer design system documentation. Developers can achieve greater brand consistency and meet app standardization requirements with newly introduced unified rendering across JavaScript and the .NET web framework. Progress® ThemeBuilder℠ cloud applications can take advantage of over 600 component-specific theme variables and a smart CSS code editor.
Next-generation accessibility and inclusivity
A recent global survey commissioned by Progress found that 76% of developers believe building human-centered applications with accessibility at their core is more important than it was two years ago. To help accelerate your efforts and address the specific needs of your users, Telerik and Kendo UI libraries are Section 508, WCAG 2.2, and WAI Aria compliant. Additionally, all web chart components have built-in accessibility and keyboard navigation to make data visualization accessible to everyone.
Progress also released new features for built-in data-driven experiences with reporting and visualization, modernizing legacy projects with support for complex migration scenarios, and support for the .NET 9 Preview.
