Google CEO Sundar Pichai has warned about the dangers of using AI to create fake videos of celebrities, but the task will soon be “easy,” he said. To tell.
Commenting in an interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes, Pichai told interviewer Scott Perry that Google has put limits on Bard AI to prevent abuse.
“With AI, it will be possible to create videos easily. Scott may say something, I may say something, but we will never do that. I didn’t say that,” Pischal told Perry. “And that may seem accurate. But when viewed on a social scale, it can cause a lot of harm.”

“I think that’s what we’re launching today as an experiment in limited ways,” Pichai replied, “but we all have to take responsibility at each step of the process.”
“Are you slowly rolling it out so that society gets used to it?” Perry clarified.

“That’s part of it, and part of it is to get user feedback, so we can develop a more robust layer of safety before we deploy, build a more sophisticated model.” said Pichai.

Current AI models can already fabricate images of celebrities that are almost indistinguishable from reality. Video and audio production is so far less proficient.
Audio clips created by AI can mimic the intended voice, but the current version sounds a bit robotic and unnatural. AI video clips are even less sophisticated.

Pichai went on to say that Google doesn’t always fully understand the answers Bard AI provides, and appears to be learning Bengali despite not being trained in it. I gave an example program.

“You don’t fully understand how it works, and you let society loose it?” Perry asked.
“Well, let me tell you, I don’t think we fully understand how the human mind works,” Pichai said.
