We asked AI imaging company Midjourney what they think people look like based purely on their dogs. Here’s what it showed us for 20 popular breeds.
Australian YouTube channel Q&AI interviewed astrophysicist and world-renowned science educator Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson through an AI that chose its own guests and created its own questions.
We gave this last and very important task to the AI text-to-image generator Midjourney, and here are the results:

The AI models behind them are prone to stereotypes because they are trained using a large amount of images collected from the internet and labeled and classified by humans.
As a result, models will reflect human biases and stereotypes, and AI output will follow suit.
For these images, Midjourney was asked to paint a breed and a typical person who owns that dog.

How to start your mid-journey
1. Log in or sign up for Discord
Discord accounts are free. Visit discord.com.
Access Midjourney Bot from anywhere you use Discord.
2. Subscribe to the Midjourney plan
Go to Midjourney.com/account and sign in with your verified Discord account.
Plans range from $8 to $120 (plus GST) per month.
3. Add Midjourney Server to Discord
Press the “+” at the bottom of the server list in the left sidebar.
Press “Join Server” and paste or type http://discord.gg/midjourney.
4. Go to the General or Novice channel on the Midjourney server.
These are displayed in the left sidebar.
5. Use the /imagine command.
Inside the General or Newbie channel, enter the “/imagine” command and enter a short text description of the image you want to create. Then send your message.

6. Agree to the terms of use
The Midjourney bot generates a popup requesting acceptance of the Terms of Service.
You must agree to these before generating the image.
7. Process the job
The Midjourney bot takes about 1 minute to generate the 4 options.
Midjourney uses a powerful graphics processing unit (GPU) to interpret and process each prompt.
When you buy a Midjourney subscription, you’re buying hours for these GPUs. Each image generation uses a portion of your subscription’s GPU time.
To see how much time is left, use the /info command by typing “/info” in the chat window.
8. Create Upgrades or Variations
After the initial image is generated, you will see two rows of buttons: U1 U2 U3 U4 and V1 V2 V3 V4.
The U button upscales the image, generating a larger version of the selected image and adding detail.
The V button creates a slight variation on the selected image.
You can also use the Reroll/Refresh button to rerun the job.
This will rerun the original prompt and generate an entirely new set of images.
9. Save the image
Click on the image to open it in full size, right click and select “save image as”.
