That’s the message from Calsense’s newly announced roadmap, the leader in the smart irrigation industry. Calsense’s announcement sets out a multi-stage vision for the company’s irrigation technology over the next few years. This new initiative aims to drive new levels of water and labor conservation to meet the needs of climate change and associated weather impacts, as well as address ongoing challenges related to labor shortages. These advancements also help users resolve issues faster and more efficiently using industry best practices.

The seven phases Carsens has outlined in its roadmap also include conventional smart irrigation today. Smart irrigation uses data such as weather, soil, topography and plant type to determine the optimal irrigation schedule, and is priced “as a service,” exemplified by the Carsens award. Awarded Irrigation Management as a Service™ (IMAaS™) service. IMaaS enables customers to deploy full-fledged smart irrigation systems while avoiding capital expenditures. Instead, he pays a fixed price for the system every year for 10 years.
The roadmap also includes IoT-first architectures, implementing human factors-based user experience interfaces, and enabling location-based asset management for irrigation and related equipment.
