Indian edtech company BYJU’S has launched BYJU’S WIZ, a suite of three AI models for hyper-personalized learning. This suite includes BADRI, MathGPT and TeacherGPT.

BADRI is a predictive AI model that uses a personalized “forgetting curve” to pinpoint a student’s strengths and weaknesses. MathGPT employs advanced machine learning algorithms to provide accurate solutions to complex math challenges such as proving trigonometric functions. TeacherGPT is an AI-driven assistant that provides personalized instruction and promotes independent problem-solving skills.

BYJU’S claims that its model’s accuracy rate reaches nearly 90%, redefining learning. The AI ​​suite builds on existing models and leverages BYJU’s data for training to create a personalized and effective learning experience.

Integrating these AI models into BYJU’s learning platform is a departure from one-size-fits-all. This is an important step forward in providing a customized learning experience. The suite predicts a student’s knowledge state, identifies misconceptions and learning gaps, and provides a personalized learning experience. This improves student engagement and efficiency while optimizing internal systems such as teacher audits.

The AI ​​suite was developed by a team of researchers, data scientists, and educational experts at BYJU’S Labs. They claim they ensured the model was safe, reliable, and curricula-compliant. These models are now undergoing rigorous testing and will be integrated across BYJU’s product portfolio to accommodate students of all ages.

The transfer is not for the purpose of replacing teachers

Divya Gokurunath, co-founder of BYJU’s, said the introduction of AI technology in education is not aimed at replacing teachers, but rather increasing organizational efficiency and allowing teachers to perform other important tasks. I made it clear that it was intended to help me concentrate.

Gokurunath emphasizes that AI technology will give teachers more accurate feedback on student performance, allowing them to better help students improve their learning. Gokulunath affirms that no AI can replicate the role of a teacher in a video class, live class, or tutoring center. “AI cannot replace what we do, like the teacher does in that video. But AI will give us clearer feedback about our students’ performance as teachers and help them become better learners,” said Gokurunath.

Gokurunath said this is not about technology versus teachers, but about technology supporting teachers and working together to make them more effective educators. The teacher’s presence in the humanized classroom remains irreplaceable and important to the overall development of the student.
