In addition to many improvements aimed at making life easier for new players, we’ve also added some visual enhancements along with the new Tractor Beam feature. The latter may seem less important, but a new mechanic allows players to earn money by attaching and detaching items, such as ship components, that can be sold for profit.
Called “Call to Adventure,” this new update not only guides new players through the intricacies of Star Citizen’s gameplay system, but it adds even more depth and improvements to single-player and multiplayer mining. Additionally, Star Citizen players will receive new combat and salvage missions.
If you’re a new player, you’ll find a more guided experience learning the basics of Area18. Newly added content covers basics such as using dedicated devices to obtain player information and navigating cities on foot. A new guide also takes players to the spaceport, where they can get their first light on the C8 Pisces ship.

One of the key mechanics introduced in the latest update is the so-called PES (Persistent Entity Streaming) feature. This means that all items in the server are persisted, so a ship left in orbit by one player can be discovered by another, stolen, and destroyed. This is the same technology that has long been used in his EVE Online, allowing players to steal and destroy unmanned ships.
Fans of PvP gameplay also get something. His new PvP event, Ghost Hollow, takes players to a small settlement within the ruined remains of Reclaimer. Simply activating a local terminal will generate his UEC, an in-game currency used to purchase weapons, shields and cosmetic items while active. However, this activates his AI guards and ends up attracting other players who want to make the UEC their own. For EVE Online players, his new PvP event will be familiar as it’s one of the many ways to make money in his CCP games.
As previously mentioned, Tractor Beam has been significantly improved to further expand your salvage gameplay options. Starting with this update, players will be able to attach and detach items from their ship’s item port using the Tractor Beam Tool. For now, it can only be used to replace components, such as replacing mining heads or salvaging valuable cargo from shipwrecks. However, this functionality will be extended to other uses in future updates.
Speaking of salvage, the Star Citizen: Call to Adventure update also adds new salvage missions. These include his three versions: low-risk legal missions, lawless missions, and high-risk illegal missions. The former allows players to salvage without risking combat. Lawless missions, on the other hand, allow players to salvage unprotected shipwrecks while at the risk of piracy. Finally, high-risk illegal missions have taken place in the field of modern combat, so while the rewards are very attractive, the risks are much higher.

The last major aspect touched on in recent updates is mining. An improved UI has been added to the game to give players more information and clarity at a glance. If mining is your main activity in Star Citizen, you’ll be happy to know that the game now provides more information about the risks of mining operations, minimum safe distance to avoid damage to your ship, and more.
Additionally, Cloud Imperium Games revealed that some mining ships have been rebalanced to make them more challenging for co-op miners. For example, Prospector now offers unique advantages to the group that manages it. Argo MOLE is similar.
Following the recent Call to Adventure update, Cloud Imperium Games announced that Star Citizen will be free-to-play during the annual Invictus Launch Week 2953. This event offers players the chance to pilot some of the game’s most iconic ships for free.
During this year’s event, Cloud Imperium Games will debut its next-generation performance vehicle brand, the Mirai. The first vehicles of the new brand, the Fury and Fury MX, are now available for purchase or free rental during the event.

Several other ships are set to make a comeback at this year’s expo, including the RSI Bengal fleet aircraft carrier and the Aegis Javelin. This time around, the annual Invictus Launch Week 2953 will be held at ArcCorp’s Area18, making it easier for new players to take advantage of the new guided experience, making it easier to hit the exhibit floor and check out all the ships on display.
The Star Citizen Invicut Launch Week 2953 and Free Fly event will run until May 30th. If you want to test drive a particular ship, be sure to check the manufacturer’s schedule.
