Former President Donald Trump has made it clear once again that he will not shun synthetic content ahead of the 2024 election.
After his controversial CNN Trump, who showed up at City Hall last Wednesday night, shared yet another piece of AI-generated material on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Friday morning. CNN Anchor Anderson Cooper said Trump’s attendance at City Hall was a success with no uncertainties.
“That’s what President Donald J. Trump ripped us off from the new asshole.” CNN’s Live from Presidential City Hall,” Fake Cooper said, “Thanks for watching, good night.”
“If we can do it at scale and distribute it on social platforms, it will have a big impact,” he added.
As other experts have pointed out, PBS, The risks that generative AI systems such as voice cloning and other deepfake techniques pose to the 2024 election cycle go beyond the risks that candidates and campaigns post online. There are many ways in which bad actors, both in the United States and abroad, can use this technology to influence the outcome of campaigns, and perhaps we should all be vigilant.
