OQC, JPMorganChase, and AMD partner to develop quantum AI platform

UK-based quantum computing company OQC, JPMorgan Chase and AMD have announced a research collaboration leveraging a new purpose-built quantum AI data center built by OQC in London.

JPMorgan Chase researchers plan to test quantum and hybrid quantum-classical computing applications in the near future through a secure enterprise environment to explore how quantum computing, AI, and high-performance classical infrastructure can work together to solve complex financial services challenges, AMD said in a press release.

Partners will use the platform to conduct research on near-term quantum computing and hybrid quantum-classical computing applications, including areas such as portfolio optimization and expanded exploration around quantum machine learning, as well as develop specialized AI models to improve the performance of quantum circuits. The partners will also explore how these quantum-enhanced AI models can accelerate the discovery of new algorithms specifically for financial use cases, as well as the role of classical computing towards scalable, fault-tolerant quantum algorithms.

JPMorgan Chase will be OQC’s first dedicated user of the UK platform, which is expected to be fully operational within 12 months.
