In this context, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), in collaboration with UNESCO-UNEVOC and the HP Foundation, is making HP LIFE courses available through the Philippines’ national e-learning platform, the TESDA Online Program (TOP). This initiative will expand access to free digital and entrepreneurship training opportunities for learners across the country, enabling them to develop practical digital skills tailored to current industry needs.
HP LIFE is the HP Foundation’s free business and digital skills training program. We offer online courses that introduce learners to key concepts in AI, the responsible use of AI, and practical applications of AI in business and everyday work, from artificial intelligence (AI) and entrepreneurship to marketing and finance. By integrating HP LIFE courses into TESDA online programs, TESDA will enhance opportunities for learners to gain foundational knowledge and in-demand digital competencies, especially in emerging fields such as AI, which are becoming increasingly essential in the digital economy.
This collaboration will be facilitated through the UNESCO Global Skills Academy, an initiative dedicated to bringing together international organizations, governments and industry partners to address pressing labor skills gaps and empower individuals for a future-ready workforce by expanding access to high-quality skills development opportunities around the world. By bringing together partners, the Global Skills Academy fosters collective efforts towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in promoting inclusive, equitable, quality education and lifelong learning. The Global Skills Academy is committed to supporting 10 million young people and adults around the world to build the skills they need to improve their employability by 2029.
Through this collaboration, TESDA will continue to expand opportunities for Filipino learners to access high-quality industry-relevant training and develop digital, entrepreneurship, and AI-related skills that can open up innovative opportunities, new jobs, and better livelihoods.
