“The Daily Show” took aim at first lady Melania Trump after she gave a speech about artificial intelligence that looked as if it had been written by artificial intelligence.

“Let’s start with Melania Trump, the first lady and the woman who just poisoned James Bond’s martini,” host Desi Riddick began in her monologue Wednesday. “Yesterday at the White House, First Lady Melania Trump hosted an AI event, continuing the long tradition of first ladies of technology, from Eleanor Roosevelt scoring high on Guitar Hero 5 to Nancy Reagan debuting the first DK suction machine. A true pioneer.”

She continued: “And Melania was really excited about AI and even did an impression of it.”

Editors at “The Daily Show” then cut to footage of the first lady’s speech, where she was seen touting the benefits of AI, saying, “Today is about opening doors. When doors open, passion flows, courage blooms, and dreams come true. AI inspires. Use this chapter of your life to set sail with your dreams.”

In response to the video, Riddick gave his best impression of Trump, replying, “Yes, let’s embark on a chapter of our lives on a rocket ship of courage that will blossom into the stars.”

The comedian then asked what inspired President Trump to write this speech, and quipped, “ChatGPT, give me a metaphor. No, give me all metaphors.”

“However, to be fair, this is not a one-off thing that Melania is doing,” Riddich added. “She’s been interested in dystopian technology for a while now.”

The program then aired a montage of many of President Trump’s statements supporting AI, including a message to reporters that said, “The robots are here.”

“Robots are here asking us to join them. I mean robots. It’s them,” Riddick further joked. “Please delete the previous sentence.”

However, in the second half of his monologue, Riddick acknowledged that President Trump may have been up to something after learning that a drone rescued a U.S. military helicopter crew shot down by an Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz.

“Sorry, wait a minute. The pilot was hit by a drone and then rescued by another drone. Am I crazy? Or were we warned about this?” she said. “Beautiful Mystery, you were right. I’m sorry for doubting you. Please delete your previous insult.”
