For 30 years, social media has asked one question. Keep scrolling? Cytation AI has built another network. “Is that true?”
There are moments in technology when you realize something only in hindsight.
The day emails replaced letters. The day search replaced encyclopedia. The day social media replaced the town square.
You didn’t feel them happening. You wake up one day and the world has reorganized around something new. Where I began to feel ashamed to even remember the old ways.
We may be approaching that moment right now.
Cytation AI announces The Feed. A social content network where every post, every image, every claim is verified before it reaches anyone else. It will not be reviewed after it is spread. If it’s too late, it won’t be labeled. I checked first. True score live. before you see it.
This has never existed before. Throughout the history of the Internet, such a thing has never existed.
Social media was built to spread things quickly. It was a success beyond anyone’s imagination. 4 billion people. Billions of posts per day. Content moving faster than any institution on earth can keep up with. What it wasn’t created for, and what no platform in 30 years of trying really tried to do, was to question whether any of it was real.

That question was always inconvenient. The truth is slow. Engagement is fast. And social media businesses have always been about engagement.
Cytation has chosen an inconvenient question.
The founder is 20 years old and started Cytation AI less than a year ago. Because they saw that the Internet was becoming a machine that spread lies at the speed of light and decided that someone had to create something to slow it down. Not labeled. It’s different from a policy team. There is infrastructure.
One year later, more than 135,000 people were using it. Trending on the App Store. And now he’s building something that the biggest, most well-funded technology company on the planet had all the resources to build for 20 years and never did.
“The question that no one has really asked on social media is what happens if we test it first, and that’s what we’re going to find out,” Kons said.
Feed is the answer.
It’s not a feature. It is not a layered version of an existing product. It’s a social content environment built from nothing based on a single premise: the act of sharing something real doesn’t feel the same as sharing something false. We need a moment of accountability. That the infrastructure itself needs to be taken care of.
I didn’t care about the platform at all. They had their reasons for not doing so. Citation has no such reason.
Feeds will launch as part of Cytation AI’s next major platform update.
