A tweet reposted by The Holy Mosque said the videos, which falsely show huge numbers of people and overcrowding, are “lies, fabrications and an attempt to mislead the public and insult the intelligence of Muslims around the world.”

The social media account The Holy Mosques, which is widely followed for updates on the holy site, reposted the explanation originally given by X user Wael Al Ahmadi. He has a bachelor’s degree in media and his profile suggests he is located in the Mecca region.
Saudi Arabia “organizes the Hajj in a professional manner to ensure the safety and comfort of the pilgrims and provide them with all amenities,” the Holy Mosque said.
2026 Hajj Safety Measures
As millions of Muslims take part in the pilgrimage, Saudi Arabia has rolled out measures to protect worshipers from the intense heat.
-
According to Saudi state television, authorities are using one of the world’s most powerful air conditioning systems to cool the Grand Mosque’s courtyard.
-
Other areas have been installed with giant fans, mist sprayers and cooling floor systems to alleviate the scorching heat.
-
Trucks are continuously distributing free bottles of ice water to pilgrims.
In early May, Saudi Arabia also deployed more than 4,500 trained volunteers to assist pilgrims during the Hajj period. Officials said the effort is part of a broader volunteer program that is expected to involve more than 20,000 participants throughout the season.
The volunteers, both male and female, will help with a variety of on-site tasks, including guiding pilgrims, helping move crowds, providing support at the site of worship, and working with local government teams on administrative tasks.
Countries like the UAE are also helping their citizens complete the Hajj. This year, the Emirates introduced a comprehensive medical and preventive support system for Haj pilgrims, with all pilgrims in the Emirates completing mandatory vaccinations before traveling to the holy site.
UAE authorities said medical teams were already deployed to Mecca and the holy city. Preparations included screening and classifying pilgrims based on their health status prior to departure to assess their suitability to perform the pilgrimage rituals.
