TOKYO, May 19 (Jiji Press) – Japan’s Hitachi, Ltd. announced Tuesday that it has begun collaboration with U.S. startup Anthropic to develop systems for infrastructure such as power transmission and railways using Anthropic’s artificial intelligence models.

Through this partnership, Hitachi aims to improve the quality of its digital services and improve its countermeasures against cyber attacks.

Hitachi also plans to encourage around 290,000 group employees to use Anthropic’s AI models, and train around 100,000 of them to become AI-savvy.

Claude Mythos, Anthropic’s latest AI model that has vastly improved its ability to detect system vulnerabilities, is not included in the partnership agreement.

In April, Anthropic announced that it had begun cooperation with electronics giant NEC to develop systems for corporations.
