CarPlay continues to give drivers more choice than ever about which services they use on the road. For example, CarPlay currently works with three top AI chatbot apps. This extends the iPhone experience into the car without requiring any special integration between the automaker and the service.
These AI chatbot apps work with Apple CarPlay
As of iOS 26.4, Apple supports a new class of CarPlay apps: voice-based conversation apps.
AI chatbot apps fall into this category, and three major companies have already released CarPlay support.

CarPlay’s Grok Voice mode works like any other AI chatbot app in your car. The app displays a list of recent conversations. Or you can start a new conversation.
Grok for CarPlay allows you to temporarily mute conversations without stopping the session completely. There’s also the ability to toggle the audio from the CarPlay app.
