The event was held in the presence of key government officials and supporting agencies, including the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), Eastern Economic Corridor Authority (EEC), Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), and strategic partner AMATA.

The exhibition highlights DayOne’s growing commitment to Thailand, where the company is developing Thailand’s first 1GW digital infrastructure platform. DayOne first expanded into Thailand by pledging a US$1 billion investment, followed by a groundbreaking ceremony for its Chonburi Tech Park data center campus in 2025. Development is progressing towards a multi-phase deployment, with more than 100MW of IT capacity expected to come online in 2026, with renewable energy integration expected to begin in 2027 through a collaboration with Amata B. Grimm Renewable Energy Company Limited (AMBRE) and PEA.

Speaking at an event, Jamie Koo, DayOne CEOemphasized the importance of aligning infrastructure development with talent and ecosystem growth. “As we move from one wave of technology to the next, from traditional systems to cloud to AI, what remains constant is the need for talent with the right skills and mindset to build the economy of the future. We believe there is a strong opportunity to develop not just the talent and capabilities that will support the next stage of digital growth,” she said, adding that DayOne is committed to working closely with governments and universities to create pathways for young talent to participate in this transformation.

She noted that historically each technological change has brought concerns about job losses, but has also created new roles and industries. “Every wave of technology brings change, but it also creates new opportunities, and AI is no different. The key is to keep learning, adapting, and embracing the changes ahead,” she added.

At the national level, investments in digital infrastructure are also accelerating broader economic transformation. Mr. Narit Terdosterasukdi, Secretary General, Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI)highlighted the far-reaching economic impact of digital infrastructure investment. “This event shows what the digital economy is really like – not just investment, but also jobs, skills and opportunities for Thai people. Data center development is driving structural transformation of Thailand’s economy, creating value across construction, engineering, renewable energy and operations, while strengthening local supply chains and long-term talent development,” he said.

As AI-driven demands on data centers continue to grow, the infrastructure that supports them will need to evolve in parallel, especially in the way energy is generated, managed, and optimized.

Mr. Warit Rattanatsuen, Deputy Governor of Electricity Authority of Thailand (EGAT)said this transformation is creating new opportunities. “As digital infrastructure expands, energy systems will need to evolve with it. Data centers will require new approaches to energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, water management, and system optimization, creating opportunities across a broader ecosystem that includes not just technology but engineering, materials, and financial innovation,” he said.

In addition to industry discussions and career engagement, the expo featured a dedicated data center module that provided attendees with a hands-on understanding of the infrastructure that supports cloud and AI technologies. The event also featured demonstrations of AI projects from leading universities, focused on applications of robotics, computer vision, and digital learning platforms, and highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in developing a future-ready workforce.

As part of its long-term commitment to talent development, DayOne has also introduced talent development initiatives in Thailand, including the DayOne Internship Program and Graduate Program. These programs are designed to provide early experience, hands-on experience and accelerated career paths, with the aim of building a strong pipeline of talent to support Thailand’s growing digital infrastructure and AI ecosystem.

The DayOne Tech & AI Career Expo is the first in a series of planned regional initiatives that reflect DayOne’s broader strategy to develop an ecosystem of talent and digital infrastructure across the region. The platform aims to support Thailand’s ambition to strengthen its position as a leading regional hub for digital infrastructure and AI by bringing together stakeholders from government, industry and academia.
