cyber cell Assam The police’s criminal wing on Monday detained one person over an AI-generated video that showed media mogul Sanjiv Narain and criticized artist Marmita Mitra in a compromising position.
This came after Narain filed a police complaint and announced a reward for information on those behind the creation of the content.
Police today detained Madhav Burman of Guwahati’s Birbari district. He has been identified as the person who created and shared the video.
Notably, after this video was leaked on social media, Sanjiv Narain said in a press conference that he considers Marmita Mitra like a daughter and a part of his family. He said Mitra was younger than his daughter and the video was an attempt to malign him on social media, which was very worrying.
Narain admitted that he had filed an FIR with the cyber police while denying reports that he had taken much-criticized singer Marmita Mitra to Assam.
Meanwhile, Mitra recently created a controversy when she performed a distorted version of legendary singer Zubeen Garg’s song while performing at a Bihu event. After this incident, she received a lot of criticism and had to apologize both in public and on social media, but nevertheless faced the cancellation of her show.
