Vizrt announced AI Keyer, a tool to switch backgrounds and insert augmented reality graphics in live production environments without using green screens or chroma keying. A demonstration will be held at NAB Show 2026 (North Hall, Booth N2161).
AI Keyer is trained on footage from a variety of environments and lighting conditions to recognize human foregrounds and distinct backgrounds in real-time, allowing talent to move within a virtual scene.

Use cases include inserting remote speakers into the virtual environment of City Hall, switching the position of presenters in the news corner, and creating a virtual advertising wall behind players during post-game interviews.
At the NAB Show, Vizrt will also demonstrate intelligent media asset management, AR data-driven graphics, and studio automation with AI Keyer.
