BENGALURU: Infosys has launched a new AI strategy called ‘Silicon to Applications’. This handbook aims to span the entire AI ecosystem, from hardware to end-user applications, through targeted investments and partnerships across each layer.At the silicon layer, Infosys has partnered with Nvidia and Intel. “These partnerships are most important when clients need to run AI on their own infrastructure, whether for data sovereignty, regulatory compliance, latency requirements, cost optimization, or other purposes,” an internal memo to employees said.Two years ago, Infosys established the Nvidia Center of Excellence to train and certify 50,000 employees on Nvidia technology, enabling them to deliver GenAI solutions across industries.At the platform layer, the focus shifts to major cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. These ecosystems power most enterprise AI development with tools for building, training, and deploying models.Infosys is also doubling down on agent AI capabilities by partnering with AI native companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini to develop advanced enterprise AI solutions across telecom, financial services, manufacturing, and software development.The IT company has partnered with Anthropic to create the Anthropic Center of Excellence to build and deploy AI agents tailored to industry-specific operations, with plans to expand into financial services, manufacturing, and software development. At the core of this partnership is the integration of Anthropic’s Claude models, including Claude Code, with Infosys Topaz AI products.“At the base model layer, we are collaborating with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini. Each model family has real strengths in different areas, such as the GPT model for general inference, Claude for safety-focused long-context applications, and Gemini for cost-effective inference with multimodal processing and Flash variants. “Our role is to fully understand these differences to make honest and informed recommendations for your specific use case, rather than defaulting to the model you are most familiar with,” the memo states.At the tools layer, Infosys is collaborating with Cursor and Cognition, two companies building an AI-native approach to software development, along with tools from other AI-native companies such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex. Cursor provides an AI integrated development environment that complements tools such as GitHub Copilot. “Cognition’s Devin represents an early experiment in autonomous software engineering. Although these are new and evolving partnerships, we believe they represent where developer tools are heading and that our early involvement will help us better understand that trajectory,” the memo said.Infosys and Cognition, makers of the AI coding agent Devin, have announced a strategic partnership to scale the tool across global enterprises. Infosys’ Financial Services business is already using Devin to transform its engineering offerings across banking, payments, capital markets, insurance, and asset management.At the application layer, Infosys leverages its strengths in industry expertise, enterprise integration, platform capabilities, and responsible AI governance to help clients move AI from prototype to production in complex enterprise environments.Infosys said the value of this layered approach is straightforward. Real-world AI solutions often span multiple layers at the same time. “The ability to leverage partnerships across the full stack allows us to build cohesive rather than piecemeal solutions,” the memo states.
