- All Google Accounts get 10 generations free each month, and top-tier Workspace users get up to 1,000 generations free.
- AI avatars are now fully customizable and consistent from scene to scene.
Creating high-quality video content required purchasing expensive equipment, multiple retakes, and hours of editing. Google wants to change all of that. Today, the company announced a major AI-powered update for Google Vids, adding advanced studio tools directly to your web browser.
The latest Google Vids update uses AI to make video production much simpler. Tasks that used to require many steps now feel as easy as typing a prompt. And many of these features are now available for free for the first time.
The highlight is Google’s latest video generation model Veo 3.1. Simply describe your idea or upload an image to create short, polished video clips and let the AI do the rest. Every Google account comes with 10 free videos each month. This is likely aimed at acquiring new users before offering a paid option if they use it frequently.

AI avatars have also been significantly upgraded. You can now fully customize it by changing your outfit, adjusting your appearance, and swapping out your background. Everything is consistent throughout the video, so there are no unnatural changes in audio or visuals between different scenes.

Google is also adding a new feature called “Direct Avatars.” In addition to acting as talking heads, these avatars can now interact with objects in the scene. Upload a product image and place an avatar in your settings to display or demonstrate your product like a real host.
If you have a higher-end plan like Google AI Ultra, you can generate up to 1,000 videos per month.
You can now create custom music using Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro, creating everything from short 30-second clips to full 3-minute tracks. Avatars and narrations also support more languages, including French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian.

To help you quickly capture content, we’ve added a Chrome extension that lets you instantly record your screen. You don’t need to open the vid first. Just click “Record” to capture your content and you’re done.
Once your video is complete, you can publish it directly to YouTube without downloading it first. By default, the export is set to private, so you have time to review it before publishing.
For professionals, Gemini is now even smarter across the Workspace ecosystem. Gmail’s Scheduling Help feature makes it easy to set up group meetings. Google Meet also now supports seven new languages for Ask Gemini and provides private help during meetings.
