Veo 3.1 Lite in Gemini app cannot generate videos. Available only to paid Google AI Studio users. For these users, 720p video costs 5 cents per second and 1080p video costs 8 cents per second. You have the option to create a horizontal video clip at 16:9 or a vertical video clip at 9:16. Newer models cannot produce 4K images.

You have the option to create clips that are 4 seconds, 6 seconds, or 8 seconds long. This is not suitable for making movies, but is useful for creating gen-AI animations to add to your website or app interface.

Google also announced that it will be reducing the price of its Veo 3.1 Fast model starting April 7th. Starting next month, this model will offer 720p video for 10 cents per second (down 5 cents), 1080p video for 15 cents per second (down 3 cents), or 4K video for 35 cents per second (also down 5 cents).

Veo 3.1 Fast is currently rolling out to paid Google AI Studio users. Complete developer documentation for the new model can be found here.
