Prime Minister Modi’s two-day visit is aimed at deepening trade and defense ties.
In his speech, Prime Minister Modi did not explicitly mention the tens of thousands of Palestinians killed in Gaza during the more than two-year war between Israel and Hamas.
But he said India “supports all efforts that contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.”
PM Modi also told Israeli lawmakers that Israel’s leadership in its economic growth and technological innovation formed a “natural foundation for our forward-looking partnership.” “We believe there are many synergies in areas such as quantum technology, semiconductors and artificial intelligence,” he added.
This is Modi’s second visit to Israel as prime minister since taking office in 2014.
