kuala lumpur – The Royal Palace of Pahang has denied claims circulating on social media that the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Riayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, is providing government financial aid to his people.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the palace said it had detected the re-emergence of several artificial intelligence (AI)-generated videos featuring the sultan’s likeness and falsely claiming to provide financial assistance.
“The public is advised not to share the video, not to rely on links or information contained in the video, and to immediately report any suspicious content they receive to authorities,” the statement said.
The Palace stressed that the video is completely false.
“The Royal Palace of Pahang would like to emphasize that this video is false and not genuine. It is a misuse of the image of the King of Pahang to deceive the public for fraudulent purposes,” it said.
The palace reiterated that the Sultan does not maintain any personal social media accounts and that all official events, statements and royal speeches are disseminated exclusively through the verified “Kesultanan Pahang” platform.
It pointed out that there is only one legitimate “Kesultanan Pahang” account on Facebook, which currently has about 758,000 followers.
While the official Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts use the same handle, the palace’s official portal is istanapahang.my.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. Last July, the Pahang Royal Palace similarly dismissed as fake an AI-generated video showing the sultan purporting to provide financial aid to his people. – February 23, 2026
