ANDERSON, South Carolina, May 1, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — In partnership with the South Carolina Department of Education to host the free Mark Cuban Foundation Artificial Intelligence. (AI) A boot camp for high school students in Fall 2023. The AI Bootcamp in Anderson targets underserved high school students (9th-12th).th Introduce these high school students to basic AI concepts and skills.
Anderson Institute of Technology is one of more than 28 host companies selected to host camps across the country in Fall 2023.
The Anderson Institute of Technology Boot Camp will run four consecutive Saturdays from October 14th to November 4th.th Bootcamps are held every Saturday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm and, if accepted, high school students must commit to attend all four sessions.

Since AI is a relevant topic in many news sources, students will be asked what artificial intelligence is, where they are already interacting with AI in their lives, and TikTok recommendations, including smart homes. Learn about the ethical implications of AI systems, including but not limited to: There are assistants, facial recognition, self-driving cars, and more. Participants learned how large-scale language models like ChatGPT changed lives as we know them by answering questions, telling original stories, and writing computer code. Students will benefit from volunteer corporate mentor instructors who are well versed in AI, ML, and data science and can help students quickly understand what is typically taught at the college level. As part of a four-hour daily curriculum, students use open source tools to build their own AI applications related to computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI.
The Mark Cuban Foundation provides the bootcamp curriculum materials, trains corporate volunteer mentors, and recruits and scores local students selected to attend the camp. Additionally, the Mark Cuban Foundation and Anderson Institute of Technology are working together to provide students with access to food, transportation, and laptops. no cost during boot camp.

Founded by Mark Cuban in 2019, the AI Bootcamp initiative has hosted free AI bootcamps for students in several US cities, including Dallas, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit, and Atlantic City. To date, the Mark Cuban Foundation has inspired more than 900 students, with the goal of increasing that number each year.
