Samsung recently teased the low-light shooting capabilities of the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra, and today the company’s US division has released a short video teasing the phone’s low-light video recording capabilities.
There’s nothing unusual about that, but here’s the problem. The teaser video itself was “generated with the help of AI tools,” as clearly stated at the bottom of the company’s disclaimer.
That’s… interesting to say the least. If Samsung wants to showcase the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s superior performance, why doesn’t it release a video shot with the Galaxy S26 Ultra in low light?
At one point in the video you are asked, “Can you do that with your phone?” But since this is an AI “assisted” video, apparently the S26 Ultra can’t “do it” either? This is very confusing, and I’m sure the intent here is good (after all, the company chose to expose its AI “assistance” and may simply not have been able to do it), but nevertheless, it seems like Samsung shot itself in the foot at least a little bit with this one.
We hope the S26 Ultra’s actual low-light video recording performance is better than what it teases using AI. The phone was officially announced on February 25th along with the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+, and the full specs sheet for all three devices was leaked a while ago along with European prices.
