ARTiBA introduces CAiEP® and CAiBP® Charter to advance global AI professional standards

The Artificial Intelligence Board of America (ARTiBA) has introduced the Certified AI Engineering Professional (CAiEP).®) and Chartered AI Business Professional (CAiBP)®), marks the formal advancement of a global artificial intelligence authentication framework. Registrations for both charters are currently being accepted worldwide.

CAiEP is positioned as ARTiBA’s highest level of professional evaluation.® and CAiBP® The Charter is designed for experienced professionals who demonstrate a high degree of responsibility, applied judgment, and sustained impact in the practice of artificial intelligence. These implementations respond to the growing demand for clearly defined senior responsibility qualifications as AI systems and AI-enabled decision-making become integrated into organizational operations, governance, and risk oversight.

The introduction of the Charter designation, announced in mid-2025, generated strong interest globally, with over 500 professionals pre-registering across the region even before formal registration opened. This initial response reflects a clear market need for advanced, role-responsible qualifications that distinguish advanced AI practitioners from leaders operating at enterprise scale.

CAiEP® Charter establishes structured advancement pathway based on ARTiBA’s globally recognized Artificial Intelligence Engineers (AiE)®) and also recognizes senior engineering leadership across diverse technical and professional backgrounds. In parallel, CAiBP® Charter has introduced a clear professional pathway for individuals responsible for AI-enabled business strategy, enterprise decision-making frameworks, and organizational governance, recognizing professionals working at senior and corporate influence levels where AI directly shapes business performance, organizational risk, and executive accountability.

Each charter reflects a differentiated professional focus and follows a rigorous evaluation process. Candidates will be evaluated on demonstrated experience, professional maturity, and readiness to work at a high level of responsibility appropriate to their respective engineering or business area.

Introduction of CAiEP® and CAiBP® The Charter strengthens ARTiBA’s role as a global standards and certification body supporting mature artificial intelligence practices across both AI engineering leadership and AI-driven business governance.
