From Computer World, over 1,000 Google employees signed an open letter calling on Google to sever its business relationships with ICE and Customs and Border Protection.
In the letter, the employees denounce the escalation in violence related to federal immigration operations, cite several high-profile deaths in the United States, and allege that Google’s technology is being used to monitor immigrants, including concerns about Google Cloud and CBP systems.
They want full disclosure, termination of the contract, and internal meetings. From the CIO, Salesforce has announced new layoffs as its leadership shakeup continues. Earlier this month, the company cut nearly 1,000 roles across teams, including marketing, product management, data analytics, and the Agent Force AI unit.
As Salesforce reorganizes its organization around AI, it will redeploy hundreds of employees to high-growth areas and create new AI roles. Leadership churn continued with the departure of Adam Evans, vice president of AI.
According to ComputerWorld , a new study finds that AI chatbots are worse than search engines when it comes to medical advice, according to a University of Oxford study.
Researchers cite two main problems. One is that users have a hard time providing relevant and complete information to chatbots, and the other is that models may provide contradictory or completely wrong advice.
