MULTAN, Feb 15 (DNA): With the rapid expansion of the digital economy, artificial intelligence skills are becoming essential for future jobs, experts said at a training and awareness session held here under the Indus AI Summit 2026.

The session was hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications and attracted a large number of students.

Speakers including Talha Hameed, Muzammil Hussain, Ahsan Bukhari, Azwar Rahman, Tayyab Shabir, Fareeha Saleem, Firza Wajid, Talal and Narain Abbas said artificial intelligence is reshaping content creation, digital marketing web design and many other key areas by increasing productivity and reducing operational costs. They emphasized that individuals with practical expertise in AI will enjoy a clear competitive advantage in the evolving job market.

MIT Director Talha Hamid said the introduction of AI is inevitable in the modern world, as AI technology is embedded in almost every professional field. He said the government’s focus on increasing AI awareness and practical training for young people is a strategic step towards building a future-ready workforce. “If used effectively, AI will not only expand learning opportunities but also create new employment avenues for young people,” he said. Hamid observed that while Pakistani youth are already providing digital services to the global market, the demand for AI-driven skills continues to grow internationally. Experts also presented real-time applications of AI tools and shared examples of how these technologies are generating measurable economic benefits.

Students found the session informative and relevant, and said initiatives like this are important for understanding emerging technologies, freelancing trends, and digital career opportunities. They called for continued engagement through similar programs to help young people adapt to the demands of the global economy.
