Russian propagandists deploy AI-generated videos to spread narrative of peace | Ukraine News

AI Video & Visuals

Russian propaganda is launching a new wave of AI-generated videos that mimic street polls and push a “peace at all costs” narrative.

The National Security and Defense Council’s Counterdisinformation Center reported this in a social media post, claiming the material was a new tool in information warfare.

The video uses a realistic visual style and portrays the main character as an ordinary Ukrainian. They have expressed the view that ending the conflict is of paramount importance, but authorities are said to be against this.

The main feature of the new materials is that they are completely generated by artificial intelligence, as confirmed by the corresponding check of the service. This is another example of Russia using AI technology in its information warfare against Ukraine.

Mechanisms and visual style

Please note that although the video reproduces the format of a street poll, its content is fictitious and controlled by artificial intelligence.

According to the Center for Combating Disinformation, the purpose of these materials is to undermine public morale, shift responsibility for continuing the war onto Ukrainian authorities, and create public pressure on the country’s leadership to demand concessions.

Background and previous publications

It is also known that the center previously reported on a series of similar AI videos in which ordinary Ukrainians allegedly expressed support for Russian concessions.

As part of a disinformation campaign, Russian propagandists continue to operate online, disseminating material masquerading as reports from foreign media, especially during international events.
