Does Newey use ChatGPT?
In an interview on Aston Martin’s website, when asked if he uses ChatGPT, Newey laughed and said: “What we’re using machine learning, or AI, for is a much more specific task, and so the way we use that AI is incredibly customized.
“We don’t typically use anything other than the Internet because it’s so Internet-specific, but there are also examples of using pattern recognition for relatively simple tasks or to help with simulation or game theory race strategy.”
When asked what these “specific tasks” are and how AI will be used in the future, he gave a rather cryptic answer.
“There are also more advanced applications… which I don’t want to talk about right now,” he continued.
“Computing power, data processing, artificial intelligence, etc. are all advancing rapidly, meaning that what is new now will be largely obsolete in 12 months.
“This is obviously incredibly exciting for us, and it’s up to us to work with our partners to keep up with this, because the opportunities it creates are absolutely immense. It’s almost as if we have to keep opening our minds again to what’s available, not on a daily basis, but certainly on a six-monthly basis, to get the most benefit as things evolve.”
