Google has announced a new AI system called Personal Intelligence that provides personalized search results based on the content of your emails and images from Google Photo Gallery, the company announced on its official blog on Thursday.
“With Personal Intelligence, recommendations not only match your interests, but also fit seamlessly into your life. You don’t have to constantly explain your preferences or existing plans. Recommendations are chosen just for you from the beginning,” Robbie Stein, vice president of product at Google Search, said in a blog entry.
According to the release, this feature is only available to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the US.
New core functionality enables AI mode to analyze content in Gmail and Google Photos to provide more accurate results when users search on Google.
“With this new experience, you can leverage your own personal context and insights to get more personalized and helpful search responses,” Stein asserts.
According to Google, Personal Intelligence can improve results when searching for activities related to your schedule if they are present in emails or images.
For example, Stein explains that the new product connects AI agents to hotel reservations, enabling a faster experience where the assistant can recommend locations without knowing where the user is staying.
Another example concerns purchasing products. The AI assistant accesses your recent purchases and photos in your gallery, analyzes what you’re searching for, and provides more accurate results than traditional search engines.
Google guarantees that information is “shared securely between Gmail, Google Photos, and the Personal Intelligence System.”
“Built with privacy in mind, AI Mode uses Gemini 3, our most intelligent model, and is not trained directly on your Gmail inbox or Google Photos library. Training is limited to AI Mode’s specific prompts and the model’s responses, which improves functionality over time,” Stein explained.
