The Madhya Pradesh government on Monday held talks with TouchLab advisor Hervé Coulai on the sidelines of the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) to explore potential collaborations in artificial intelligence and emerging digital technologies, according to an official release.
TouchLab, an AI-driven company with operations in the UK, Tokyo and the US, shared insights about its global work in advanced artificial intelligence solutions and its participation in the upcoming International AI Summit. The company is currently working on the proof-of-concept stage for its AI center, which could open up possibilities for future partnerships and expansion.
During the interaction, the Madhya Pradesh delegation highlighted the state’s growing capabilities as a technology and AI destination. The focus was on the availability of cost-effective and reliable power infrastructure, which is critical for data centers and compute-intensive operations. The state also showcased NATRAX, India’s largest automotive testing and validation facility, as a key asset for advanced mobility solutions, AI-enabled testing and next-generation technology development.
The discussion also highlighted opportunities for educational and research cooperation, particularly involving small and medium-sized enterprises, aimed at strengthening applied innovation. The state highlighted the state’s startup ecosystem, which includes more than 6,000 registered startup companies and offers opportunities for piloting, scaling and co-developing new technologies.
TouchLab expressed interest in exploring the use of the technology in areas such as cybersecurity and online gaming. These areas are in line with Madhya Pradesh’s policy of promoting animation, visual effects, games and comics (AVGC) and broader digital innovation initiatives.
Both sides agreed to continue their engagement to identify concrete avenues for cooperation, including AI-based pilot projects, ecosystem-level partnerships, and the possibility of launching technology-driven initiatives in the state.
The interaction reflects Madhya Pradesh’s broader efforts to position itself as a competitive hub for artificial intelligence, deep tech innovation and future-oriented digital industries, the release added.
Earlier in the day, the state government delegation also met with Jasmine Hume, CEO and founder of AI-powered protein discovery company Shiru, to discuss potential collaborations in advanced protein technologies, agriculture-based inputs, and applied research.

The 2026 World Economic Forum will be held under the theme “Spirit of Dialogue” and will focus on addressing geopolitical challenges and economic uncertainty. The annual conference saw record participation from governments, including approximately 400 political leaders and 65 heads of state.
