Apprentice and the Austrian Ski Federation enter into a partnership to make winter sports videos available for AI development.

AI Video & Visuals

Protege and the Austrian Ski Federation have a partnership that allows winter sports videos to be used in AI development.

As part of this collaboration, Protege, the trusted data source for AI development, will provide secure and legally compliant access to authentic, high-resolution footage of skiing and snowboarding in real-world training and competition environments, covering a variety of terrain, weather conditions, lighting conditions, and camera angles.

The Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) provides Protege with a library of high-quality audiovisual content on the theme of winter sports for the responsible use of AI.

Accurately rendering winter sports presents unique technical challenges and opportunities for AI teams. These include rapid movement, extreme environments, fast camera movements, complex backgrounds, changing visibility, unique weather conditions, and high-contrast scenes. Nevertheless, rendering anatomically correct and physically realistic videos is paramount for video models intended for content creation.

This premium content will enable AI teams to manipulate videos that reflect the true complexity of sports and interactions with complex environments. This is particularly important for further development of multimodal and video models. Previously, this type of content was not easily available for AI training purposes, and publicly available content was either already in use or lacked the high quality needed.

Protege is pleased to offer secure and legal access to exclusive, high-quality content from the Austrian Ski Federation.

austrian ski federation Christian Scherer, CEO: “We want to break new ground in winter sports with artificial intelligence and at the same time enable responsible AI development while protecting copyright.
