YouTube removes fake Dan Needle AI tax video

AI For Business

YouTube removed four videos within 36 hours of reporting false information posted by an anonymous user named Tax Information. This user has no presence in the UK apart from a blank page on Facebook and Instagram.

However, the Tax Information channel is still active, with three videos by U.S. and Canadian tax and finance experts Mark J Kohler and Rami Sethi, but there have been no new posts in seven days.

The video featuring Needle was clearly AI-generated, had a terribly fake voiceover, and was peppered with gibberish comments about taxes.

“It’s a strange experience to watch a video that looks almost exactly like me, with a voice that doesn’t sound like me, speaking complete nonsense,” Needle told Business & Accountancy Daily.

“It’s even weirder that YouTube doesn’t proactively detect and block channels like this, despite the obvious potential for fraud, and that it’s so hard to report AI impersonation. But I’m glad it’s gone!”

This fraudulent content creator only has 6 subscribers, but should be monitored to ensure other UK tax professionals are not using AI to impersonate them.

YouTube confirmed that it had removed the fake video, saying, “Thank you for reporting videos you think are inappropriate.” The video you reported on January 13, 2026 has been removed or restricted from YouTube.

“Please note that creators have the right to appeal YouTube’s decisions at any time after their content is removed or restricted. You can always review the status of your flagged content.

Since the YouTube channel is still active, it’s worth monitoring the activity to see if AI-generated content is posted in the future and to report quickly.
