AGI Inc.'s Android app lets you use your phone
AGI, Inc. is an AI startup reportedly valued at $500 million that develops AI assistants that can use devices just like humans. At CES 2026, the company was demoing an Android app, still in private beta (waiting list required), that can use any app on your phone for you. For example, you can tell the app to call you an Uber, change your wallpaper, put your phone on silent, add chicken wings to your DoorDash order, send you a message on LinkedIn, and more.

To make this work, the company built its own custom AI model using reinforcement learning. AGI, Inc. simulates different Android applications in-house, so the AI knows what different apps look like. We also leveraged data provided by human annotators. Apps, on the other hand, leverage a combination of accessibility features (after you give them permission) to navigate and perform actions on your phone.
From the app's home screen, you can enter commands by voice or text, and choose from suggested actions. AI performs actions for you.
Currently, the company is running its GPUs in the cloud, but the goal is to run the entire model locally, which it expects to do within the next six months. The company is also working with partners like Qualcomm and Samsung to further integrate its technology into devices.
The startup is backed by $10 million from Menlo Ventures, Anthropic, and other top VCs. The company is led by Div Garg, who worked on his PhD in AI at Stanford University before leaving to start his own company. His previous company, MultiOn, pioneered AI browser agents.
There are currently 30,000 people on the waiting list, and the company plans to open up access in stages.
Correction: The amount raised is $10 million, not $30 million. This story was updated after publication to correct this.
